{ Time }

I love when I have a thought that hits me hard. The kind that makes me stop what I’m doing and savor the moment before it quickly fades away. This last week has presented me with a lot of these moments. Today I had one, though, that I wanted to share.

Time.

We have been handed time. A lot of it too. I don’t recall a period in my lifetime that on a global level we have all been gifted this precious commodity. So I ask, what have you been doing with all this extra time?

Has it allowed you to some of the things you repeatedly tell yourself that you don’t have time for?

Write. Meditation. Watch your children grow, learn, discover. Walk your dog/s. Clean out a closet. Plan a vacation. (Ironic yes, but not really.) Cook. Meal prep. Read. Relax. Workout. Enjoy the moment. Get outside. Whatever it is that you claim not to have time for. Are you doing those things? If not, why?

For me personally, this has been a beautiful opportunity to reconnect to the things that I miss about the past. I’ve been sitting making a 2000 piece jigsaw puzzle while listening to music. No news. No tv. No phone. No social media. Just music and a puzzle. Simple. Yet this simple act has filled me with heartwarming energy from times in my life I miss. Dan has looked over at me multiple times, and there I sit at the table, happily smiling while singing a song, making a puzzle. I’ll remember this feeling for a long time.

This is your chance. This gift of time doesn’t always have to be overly productive. And it definitely doesn’t have be filled with anxiety and sadness. If anything, let it be more of the opposite. Let it be a time for you to disconnect from all the busyness. Let it reconnect you with your loved ones and animals. Let it be boring. Lean into even. Let the boring tell you something. Let it be still. Truly, just let it be. And listen.

Finding balance amongst the trees.

Why? Because when we are on the other side of “this”…I hope behind hope that it teaches each an every one of us what is truly important in life. It shows us how to live. It is the kick in the ass we need to make the changes and direct our lives in a way that is truly authentic to who we want to be.

This doesn’t have to be miserable. If you look for the good in this, you’ll find it. A lot of it. Enjoy this moment in time. Just be. Life will never again be how it is right now.

Cheers! ✌💖
