Life is messy. Really messy at time. Different kinds of messy too. Sometimes a beautiful one, other times a completely chaotic one. We often put so much energy into having tidbits of life placed neatly into individual boxes. When in actuality most of us are lucky if we can remember where a box even is.

What if you shifted your perspective? What if you learned to appreciate and encourage chaos and the messiness? To have things all over the place, scattered around creating a bit of madness?
This is what I'm gently teaching myself. As utopian as it may seem to have my ducks lined up single file, I know that life doesn't work that way. The more I fight to tame the ducks, many times ducks that aren't even mine, I loose the joy in the madness.
The craziness makes you appreciate the stillness as long as you don't take up residency there. It challenges you to think in new ways. Allows you to grow and move in directions you may have never thought possible. The boundaries of your being can get pushed to unforeseen extremes, and ultimately transform you into a brand new person. More often than not the evolution that happens turns you into an even better, stronger, worldlier version of yourself.
So the next time your realm gets out of control and you feel like you are drowning, calmly breathe. Send your attention to what this experience is showing you. Then slowly walk through the settling smoke and dust and ask...what's next?
